Yesterday I went to go and see one of the most hyped films of the year – ‘The Hunger Games’. If you haven’t heard of it, I strongly recommend finding out about it…it’s pretty big.
I’m terrible for taking notes during the movie…if there is a phrase or sentence that moves me, very often I’ll write it down. Then sometimes I’ll blog about it, or I’ll simply save it for later. There was one phrase during the film that particular spoke to me;
“Hope. It is the only thing stronger than fear”
Wow. I love that.
Fear can be conquered by hope.
Hope > Fear
I have unending hope in Jesus Christ. There’s a song that we’re singing today at church called ‘This Is The Day’ by Phil Wickham. In that song is a particularly relevant line:
Have no fear
Salvation has come and
He is here
A small, but exciting thought for the day. Now to continue a fantastic day of baptisms!
Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him,
to the one who seeks him;
