At Kerith Community Church, we tend to play far more contemporary worship songs than hymns – it’s just the way we do things as a church. But inevitably, over the last four years that I’ve worked there, I’ve come across some fantastic hymns (usually shown to me by someone else). A while back, I wrote about my frustrations with the way many hymns are arranged in a modern context (click here to read that post), so for a bit of fun on my week off from work, I decided to record an acoustic arrangement of ‘Come Thou Fount’. I’m not saying that this is definitively the best way of playing it; not even close. It’s just well, I happen to be a guitarist and I wanted to put my own stamp on it. I hope you like it!
Do you have a particular favourite hymn that you’d like me to do an acoustic arrangement for? I find it quite fun, so feel free to request one below!
