I started writing songs over a decade ago – that sounds crazy. Like crazily crazy. I’ve written plenty of songs (many of which have never seen the light of day), but very rarely are my songs ever covered by other people. When they are though, I can’t tell you what an absolute privilege it is. It was unbelievably humbling to hear one of my songs sung in Albanian earlier this year and so exciting to hear that a church in Canada are singing a song I’d written a few years ago. It’s something you dream about, but don’t realistically expect. After all, the intention behind the songs I write now are to support congregation at Kerith Community Church in meeting with God. If they go no further, so be it.
Having said that, when they are covered by others, it’s fantastic. My friend Arvy, who is on academy from Lithuania this year, has recently covered a song of mine called ‘Psalm 63’. Not only that, but he’s covered it really nicely. So nicely in fact, that I felt I had to share it to you. It’s so exciting to hear a song that I wrote sung so brilliantly. Thank you Arvy!
