Day 352: The Collaborative Worship Song

Every now and then, I have the fantastic privilege of seeing people worship God to a song that I’ve written. It’s hugely humbling. But I’ve been thinking. Imagine if the congregation wrote a song together? A truly collective voice lifting up praises to our King! To me, it sounds incredible.

This post isn’t intended to inspire you with my literary genius (to be honest with you, none of them are). Instead, I’d love for you to help me. I feel there’s a way that we can connect a church community to write songs that come from all of us as well as a small handful of musicians. If I’m honest, I have no idea how we’d go about it, but I think it could be something monumental! Does the thought of that excite you as much as it excites me?!

How can we work together to create something like this? Perhaps you’ve got lyrics or a theme; perhaps you’ve got a musical hook or a technological idea that could inspire collaboration. Maybe you just want to be involved or you know others who would. Comment or email me with your thoughts (davidcbetts@googlemail.com) – I really believe that we can find a way to glorify God in a spectacular way! I look forward to hearing from you…
